How can I access databases from off campus?

Answer

When you click on a library database, you will be prompted for a username and password, Use your username and password that you use for Blackboard or Wi-Fi.

In order to be prompted for your login, you must choose the database from the F.D.Bluford Library homepage, reference guides, or database list, found here https://libguides.library.ncat.edu/az.php. This will connect you to the databases via the Library's proxy server. If you use a bookmark or go directly to the database URL, the service will NOT know that you are associated with NC A&T and you will not be able to view full text articles.

Article searches done through the Library's standard search (the bright yellow box on this page https://www.ncat.edu/library/) will route you through the proxy automatically.

When you are prompted by the system to log in, the information you use will be the same Aggie OneID you use for blackboard, email, etc.

For example, if your email address is agoodstudent@aggies.ncat.edu:
username: agoodstudent
password: xxxxxxxxxxxx
(same password as for email, Blackboard or Wi-Fi)

Certain Databases require that you set up a separate user account to access their content.  This account can be whatever you like, but using your Aggie email address and password will help keep things simple. If you have any questions about a specific database, reach out to a librarian via our online answer system here - https://ncat.libanswers.com/form?queue_id=3313
